Who I am

This privacy notice explains how I, Antony Constantinou, trading as Antony Constantinou Counselling & Psychotherapy, collect and use personal information. I am a sole practitioner and the data controller for the information described here. I am registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).

Information I collect

When you get in touch: your name, email address, phone number, and anything you choose to tell me in your message, which may include information about your health or circumstances. This applies whether you contact me through the website form, email, phone or WhatsApp.
If we work together: contact details, brief session notes, an emergency contact, and billing records will be kept safe and confidential.
When you visit the website: basic technical information such as your IP address and browser type is collected to keep the site working and secure.

Why I use it and my lawful basis

To respond to your enquiry: your consent and my legitimate interest in replying to you.
To provide therapy and keep appropriate records: to fulfil our therapy agreement. I process health information to provide health care under a duty of confidentiality.
To invoice and keep financial records: my legal obligations.

Confidentiality and sharing

Everything you share with me is treated as confidential. I do not sell or share your information for marketing. I will only share it:

in clinical supervision, which is a professional requirement, without details that identify you;
where I am legally required to, or where there is a serious risk of harm to you or others, in which case I would discuss this with you first wherever possible;
with services that support my practice, such as secure email, website hosting and my accountant, only as far as necessary.

If you contact me by WhatsApp, your messages are also handled by WhatsApp (Meta) under their own privacy policy.

How long I keep information

Enquiries that do not lead to therapy are deleted within 12 months. Client records are kept for 7 years after our work ends, then securely destroyed.
